Before establishing the company, our senior team spent many years delivering a diverse range of projects across structural engineering, engineering consultancy, project management, construction supervision, and the broader construction industry. These experiences have shaped the practical and collaborative approach that defines IA Engineering today.
Our expertise extends well beyond structural design. Having worked closely with architects, builders, developers, project managers, and other industry professionals throughout every stage of project delivery, we understand the challenges of construction as well as the importance of practical, buildable, and economically efficient engineering solutions.
Our senior professionals bring more than 22 years of industry experience, having contributed to residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects across Australia and internationally. Iman Ahmadian
Iman Ahmadian is the Founder and Managing Director of IA Engineering & Consultancy Pty Ltd. A structural engineer and member of Engineers Australia, he brings more than 24 years of professional experience across structural engineering, engineering consultancy, project leadership, and the construction industry throughout Australia and internationally.
Prior to establishing IA Engineering, Iman built an extensive career delivering a diverse range of residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and high-rise developments. Working alongside architects, developers, builders, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams, he has led the design, coordination, and delivery of complex engineering projects. This breadth of experience, together with his international project exposure and comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies, engineering standards, and project delivery, has provided him with a holistic perspective across the entire project lifecycle.
What distinguishes Iman's professional approach is his ability to bridge engineering design with real-world construction. He believes that the best engineering solution is not simply one that is technically correct, but one that is safe, practical, buildable, economically efficient, and capable of creating lasting value. This philosophy became the cornerstone upon which IA Engineering was founded and continues to guide every aspect of the company's work.
His professional expertise extends well beyond structural design. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in engineering consultancy, project leadership, structural assessments, remedial and strengthening works, technical investigations, engineering reports, construction methodologies, and expert witness services. This unique combination of consulting expertise and practical construction knowledge enables him to approach engineering challenges with a balanced perspective that considers technical excellence, constructability, risk management, cost efficiency, and long-term project performance.
Today, Iman leads IA Engineering with an unwavering commitment to engineering excellence, professional integrity, and responsible decision-making. Zoe Gheybi
Zoe Gheybi is a Board Member and Chief Operating Officer of IA Engineering & Consultancy Pty Ltd, bringing more than 15 years of professional experience across engineering management, project coordination, business operations, and regulatory processes within the engineering and construction industry.
Prior to joining IA Engineering, Zoe served for many years in senior municipal roles overseas, where she was responsible for assessing development and building applications, reviewing planning and engineering documentation, issuing building approvals, and overseeing statutory compliance throughout the approval process. This experience provided her with a comprehensive understanding of development assessment, regulatory frameworks, and the practical application of planning and building controls.
Since relocating to Australia, Zoe has developed a strong understanding of the New South Wales planning system, local council requirements, and development approval pathways. Her familiarity with council planning controls, statutory processes, and project coordination enables her to effectively support clients through the complexities of planning approvals and regulatory compliance.
As a co-founder and member of the Board, Zoe plays a key role in the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of IA Engineering. Combining strong organisational leadership with extensive regulatory knowledge, she works closely with clients, consultants, councils, and project teams to ensure projects are coordinated efficiently and delivered with professionalism, transparency, and attention to detail.
Today, Zoe continues to strengthen IA Engineering through her commitment to operational excellence, responsible leadership, and delivering an exceptional client experience. Her ability to bridge technical, administrative, and regulatory requirements contributes significantly to the successful delivery of projects from initial planning through to completion.
